Overview
Octopus was engaged to design, engineer, supply and install a major outdoor LED display for IMAX Sydney. The screen spans the prominent entrance elevation, creating a high-impact digital canvas for cinema branding, releases and visitor communications.
HHC Engineers partnered with Octopus on the installation design for the 22-metre-long by 6-metre-high external screen, with Multiplex Australasia delivering The Ribbon development. The support structure, module layout and finishing had to follow the building’s curved architectural form while allowing safe access for installation and future maintenance. The completed display reads as part of the building rather than an added billboard.
